  • Ballerina Pink Textured Cotton - When we touched this fabric, I immediately thought of cozy bathrobes. The texture of the cotton - similar to that of our favorite silky noil - is nubbly yet soft and will only get softer with each washing. The ballerina pink color is muted and calming, perfect for lazy Sundays. We see wrapping yourself in this robe right after a nice bath and luxuriating in its nice weight and coziness. A fabric to make you go, "ahhhh. . . "
  • Smoke Blue Organic Cotton Double Gauze - While you may think of light colors when you think of calming, peaceful fabrics, we also love the darker, natural colors like gray and dark blue. They remind us of morning lakes and cool, slate countertops - minimalist and chic. Pair that mood with a floaty cotton double gauze, and you have magic. Light, cushy, and snuggly, this fabric will feel like a baby swaddle, but look like a sophisticated robe. We love it!

Love the pattern

I love this pattern. It isn't a good one for beginners due to the lack of clear instructions. It also doesn't really tell you the width of bias binding to use -- odd! -- good thing bias tape comes in the kit. The garment itself is comfortable and flexible but the amount of fabric given seemed pretty skimpy this month.

struggling

I am not exactly a beginner but someone who needs more sewing experiences. This kit is frustrating me more than stretching me: e.g., I prefer tissue patterns for flexibility, manageability, elimination of steps (tracing); am finding red ink hard to read on the instruction; the English translation and abbreviations takes some figuring out (it can be done but why so challenging?); metric measurements also need translating (from instruction to pattern to sewing machine); the fabric is super slinky for someone still feeling her way. I could use a secondary Needle-sharp written tutorial to avoid confusion and frustration. I am only just beginning the sewing part so results remain to be seen . . .if it doesn't turn out useable I will really be ticked.

Lovely pattern and fabric combination

Great pattern and fabric. I love that you do all the main decisions for me! I little disappointed in the amount of elastic thread supplied-definitely needed more than one spool. Also, the fabric is very shear; it really needed a lining on the bodice. So, I did have to go to my local fabric store to get more supplies to finish.

Gotta love quilting!

I liked the fabric and final results but didn’t realize it would take so long to cut out and quilt all the pieces for this vest, and I’m an experienced quilter!
