  • Shetland Houndstooth Flannel - We have fallen in love and it's with the luxuriously soft cotton flannel. Mimicking the look of wool houndstooth tweeds, this fabric is yarn-dyed, with amazing depth to the weave. With a tailored drape, it holds its shape well and presses just as nicely. Brushed for softness, it will become a lovely midweight jacket, perfect for fall weather or warmer climes.
  • Camel Diamond Cotton Jacquard - Mimicking the now famous look of Merchant and Mills jacquards, this cotton is a looker. In a warm, neutral beige, this layered cotton has a jacquard weave that gives it a quilted look and feel. The reverse is a gauzy cotton, there is no batting in the middle of this cloth, the inside is made up of a series of thicker yarns which gives it the quilted feel. Warm but airy, this fabric is absolutely made for this pattern!
  • Eucalyptus Infinity Recycled Flannel - Look quickly, and you'd be absolutely certain this heavyweight flannel was a wool coating. With the look of melton wool, but the touchably soft feel of a brushed, cotton flannel, this fabric has everything you want for a coating fabric. Plus, the color is stunning. An sagey, minty, eucalyptus green is cool and calming. An unexpected breath of fresh air for your wardrobe.

Love the pattern

I love this pattern. It isn't a good one for beginners due to the lack of clear instructions. It also doesn't really tell you the width of bias binding to use -- odd! -- good thing bias tape comes in the kit. The garment itself is comfortable and flexible but the amount of fabric given seemed pretty skimpy this month.

struggling

I am not exactly a beginner but someone who needs more sewing experiences. This kit is frustrating me more than stretching me: e.g., I prefer tissue patterns for flexibility, manageability, elimination of steps (tracing); am finding red ink hard to read on the instruction; the English translation and abbreviations takes some figuring out (it can be done but why so challenging?); metric measurements also need translating (from instruction to pattern to sewing machine); the fabric is super slinky for someone still feeling her way. I could use a secondary Needle-sharp written tutorial to avoid confusion and frustration. I am only just beginning the sewing part so results remain to be seen . . .if it doesn't turn out useable I will really be ticked.

Lovely pattern and fabric combination

Great pattern and fabric. I love that you do all the main decisions for me! I little disappointed in the amount of elastic thread supplied-definitely needed more than one spool. Also, the fabric is very shear; it really needed a lining on the bodice. So, I did have to go to my local fabric store to get more supplies to finish.

Gotta love quilting!

I liked the fabric and final results but didn’t realize it would take so long to cut out and quilt all the pieces for this vest, and I’m an experienced quilter!

Top quality box!

Very impressed with the quality of the materials provided in this box. The Megan Nielsen pattern is really fantastic and includes many links to information and tutorials. I'm not going to lie, this will be an ambitious make for me. Thanks to Needle Sharp for making this irresistibly great box to inspire me.
