Sew Indulgent Box - 6 Months - October 2023

Sienna is a chic utility jacket inspired by vintage French workwear. Designed for hard-wearing use by makers and artists, it functions as both stylish outerwear and a highly practical layer for use inside the studio. With a slightly dropped shoulder, Sienna features a crisp notched collar which can be worn buttoned at the neck with an optional snap button. It is unlined and finished with durable seams.

Views A & B feature deep hip pockets, a hidden breast pocket, and a waist-cinching belt with a D ring closure that can be worn closed, or open by looping the belt in the opposite direction; View A hits at mid-thigh, and View B ends at the upper thigh. View C is a short chore jacket with button closure, optional sleeve pockets, and a back button placket. More...

  • Off Black Cotton Linen Wavy Stripe Jacquard - With the look of a wide wale corduroy, but without any nap, this fabric is unique and textured. the lines are a bit wobbly, adding to the visual interest of the fabric, and the cotton-linen blend keeps it breathable and flexible. Almost like a workwear pinstripe, these lines will lengthen and accentuate the sweep of the coat, and the black-on-black color will be as classic as can be!
  • Woodlands Patchwork Black/Gray Brushed Coating - All the look of a patchwork coat without all the piecing, this yarn-dyed coating is soft and brushed and oh so comfy. The closest we get to a blanket coat for this month, the coating will become a warm and snuggly coat with just the right amount of heaviness. And the gray-on-gray color feels chic and stylish. A stunning fabric!
  • Caramel Heavyweight Linen Twill - We couldn't go this month without a nod to the famous Carhart work coat. The part of nearly every workwear wardrobe, the caramel yellow jacket is practically part of American history. Rather than recreate it in whole cloth, though, I decided to mix it up with a heavyweight linen instead of canvas. The linen is sturdy yet soft and will only improve with age as you wear this coat for years and years!

I sewed up the Dec box immediately! The fabric was gorgeous. I chose the box based on the luxurious Atelier Brunette fabric and was so pleased by the quality. I decided it was so special that it would make a perfect holiday gift for my daughter. She is going to love these pjs. I love getting everything I need to sew a beautiful garment in one box without hassle and I love getting to try out new patterns. This month’s merchant & mills pattern I probably wouldn’t have picked up but was pleasantly surprised and will make it again!

Gorgeous Fabric…can’t wait to make it

The glen check in this month’s box is amazing. I love how it’s subtle yet has that splash of colour in the plaid. The fabric has use a touch of spandex which will make these trousers so comfortable. Always a home run with these boxes!

First Box

This was my first box I've ordered. I could not be more impressed! Everything is so thoughtful--whatever I could possibly need is in there (including chocolate! Lol) for any of the versions I decide to do. The material is beautiful and the lining materials and threads coordinate perfectly. I have not had a chance to get started on the sewing yet but I can't wait!
