Rayon and Viscose Fabric by the Yard
Not quite a natural fiber and not quite a synthetic, rayon is made when a natural fiber, cellulose, is chemically processed to form thread. The cellulose can come from bamboo stalks, wood pulp, or even the fuzz on the outside of cotton seeds in the case of bemberg. But no matter the source, the resulting fabric is soft, drapey, and often very sustainable. And we love to use it in our sewing because of its vibrant colors and cool hand.
Once you find your next favorite fabric, don't forget to pick up a matching pattern. Or, if you want all the hard work done for you, check out our garment sewing kits where we often feature rayon and viscose fabrics!
