How it Works and FAQ

Whether you're a beginner sewist who feels overwhelmed when you walk into a fabric store and don't know where to start or an experienced crafter who just doesn't have time or energy to plan your next sewing project, we've designed our subscription boxes to make sewing your own clothes easy, accessible, and fun - just as it should be!

Let us handle all the hard work of finding the right interfacing, the matching zipper, the perfect buttons. That way, you can get down to the really good stuff - the actual sewing of your own handmade wardrobe!

How do the subscription boxes work?+

You can find everything you need to know about our subscriptions on our Subscriptions Page. There you will see our current offerings, a description of what is included each month, and a subscription specific FAQ. If you are a current subscriber, you can also find the link to manage your subscription there.

Where do you ship?+

We are based in the United States and currently ship to the United States and  Canada.

We ship with the United States Postal Service in the United States and with both the USPS and UPS internationally. While the subscription boxes always ship on the first of the month, fabric by the yard and the starter box will ship within 1-3 business days of purchase.

Estimated shipping times:

United States: 1-7 business days

Canada: 3-7 business days

Any customs, duties or taxes are the responsibility of the customer.

Delivery estimates listed are provided by the USPS and do not include time held up in customs

What is the return policy?+

For subscription boxes, you can return a box within 7 days of receipt. Boxes can only be returned if the fabric is unwashed and uncut and if the notions are unopened. Email for details on how and where to return your box.

All fabric by the yard is non-returnable once cut and shipped.

A full list of our policies can be found here.

Can I make a special request?+

Certainly! We are always willing to work with our clients so they can create their next favorite piece of clothing. Want white buttons instead or black? A contrast zipper instead of a coordinating one? Feel free to ask us. While unfortunately we cannot accommodate every request, we will do our best to satisfy your needs.

We also always appreciate suggestions of theme ideas, patterns and fabrics. Our store is always evolving and we would love to hear what you have to say!

How do I recycle my packaging?+

All of our packaging is recyclable and/or reusable. The box, paper bags, and tissue paper can be recycled with mixed paper. The plastic bags for the notions can either be repurposed or recycled with plastic bags (#4). You can find a recycling location in your area by checking out this link to the very useful site: Earth 911.

Wait, you haven't answered my question!+

Any other inquiries, feel free to ask.
