You sure can! Our subscriptions don’t lock you into one box for all eternity—this isn’t a gym membership! We know that from month to month, different boxes might appeal to you more than the one you're currently subscribed to. Maybe you started out with the Sew Essential Box, but are ready to try something more challenging. Maybe you made a one-of-a-kind piece from the Sew Indulgent Box, and you're looking for a simple sewing palate cleanser. Each month, we encourage you to choose any box you want.

Boxes are announced on the 15th of each month and are available for 30 days. If you subscribe to our newsletter, you will be one of the first to be in the know. After the subscription window closes, we take two weeks to gather all the supplies and put your box together (with extra goodies!). Then we ship your box after the 1st of the month.

Four “New Boxes” are released each month featuring new patterns and styles for your enjoyment. Additionally, we also list four classics, which we refer to as our “Tried & True” boxes. These are revived from the Needle Sharp archives, kind of like our Greatest Hits to inspire creativity and give you even more to choose from each month.

You bet! If one simply isn’t enough to keep you busy, you can add as many subscriptions as you like to your account.

You certainly can. If making a first draft to get just the right fit with a new pattern makes you happy, you can add muslin to any subscription in the Manage my Subscription portal. You can also always add additional patterns, fabric, or notions to your box each month in the portal.

Of course! We would never presume we will always pick a pattern or fabric you love (though damned if we’re not going to try). If you’d like to skip a month you can indicate that choice from the Manage My Subscription portal. Once you make that selection, you will not receive a box for that month and your credit card will not be charged. Please note, that the skip option only applies one month at a time. If you want to stop being charged automatically for good, you need to choose to cancel your subscription.

The first time you purchase a subscription, you pick your fabric at the time of purchase. Every month thereafter, your fabric selection must be chosen in the Manage My Subscription portal by the 14th of the month before the box is locked on the 15th. If you do not select your fabric choice before the lock date, you will receive the first fabric listed for the box on the product page. We understand that everyone has busy lives, so if you panic, realizing you want something other than the default, email us at info@needle-sharp.com and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Each box comes with enough fabric to make the largest size the pattern calls for. For patterned fabrics, we give you (at least) an extra 6” to account for matching plaids, stripes, and florals. If you find that you've made a mistake, cut the wrong size or, eek!, had a laundry disaster, we usually (though not always) have fabric left over that can be purchased by the yard. All you have to do is email us at info@needle-sharp.com. If you are outside the pattern sizes and are planning to grade your pattern upwards, simply email us at info@needle-sharp.com by the 15th of the month so we can provide you with more continuous yardage for a small extra fee.

You will be charged for your first box at the time of purchase. Subsequent boxes will be charged on the first of each month. When your box is shipped, you will receive a tracking number so that you can impatiently watch its progress as it travels through the postal system.

Buy more than one month at a time and save! If you’re ready to set yourself up for months of fun sewing projects at a time, we’ll give you a nice discount. Prepaid subscriptions must be paid in full at the time of purchase and you can choose to renew, cancel, or switch to month to month after your chosen interval. NOTE: Prepaid subscriptions cannot be skipped. You will receive the chosen number of month's boxes in consecutive order.

3-month subscription - save 10%

Absolutely! Simply check the box when placing your order and we will be sure your gift is delivered in style.

If you do not select a different box before the lock date, you will receive the box you received the previous month with the default fabric selections for that box. We understand that everyone has busy lives, so don’t panic! Just email us at info@needle-sharp.com if you’d like to make changes and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Subscription boxes can be returned within 7 days of receipt for a full refund. Boxes can only be returned if the fabric is unwashed and uncut and if the notions are unopened. Email info@needle-sharp.com for details on how and where to return your box.

Certainly! We are always willing to do what we can to help create your next favorite piece of clothing. Want white buttons instead or black? A contrast zipper instead of a coordinating one? Feel free to ask. Although, try as we might, we cannot accommodate every request, but you can count on us to do our best to satisfy your needs. There is no penalty for cancelling at any time. You can subscribe for one month or 12, or even 100, and cancel or reactivate whenever you like.

All of our packaging is recyclable and/or reusable. The box, paper bags, and tissue paper can be recycled with mixed paper. The plastic bags for the notions can either be repurposed or recycled with plastic bags (#4).
