A cross between a blazer and a cardigan, this chic, unlined jacket is semifitted, slightly cropped, and includes several unique features: a cutaway silhouette, cut-on sleeves, a sleeve gusset for better movement and fit, and a gentle stand-up collar.

With no set-in sleeve and no closures, this style is fun and easy to sew as well as versatile to wear. The cut-out V-notch at the back hem adds a little extra style, and the pattern is great for color blocking. This style includes cup sizes with added bust darts for C and D cups to help you get a perfect fit. More...

  • Jet Black Cotton Drill - There's nothing more versatile than a black jacket – It can be worn with basically anything! With a left-hand weave, this twill is like your favorite denim jacket but dressed up in black tie clothes. A slight sheen gives that fabric an extra oomph, and a heavier weight will really accentuate the standing collar. Go day to night with this fantastic option!
  • Chocolate Microcheck Moleskin - I have been trying to use moleskin for a while and just not found the right opportunity. Until now! Brushed on one side for a sueded texture, this fabric is lush and oh-so wearable. The deep, chocolate brown is actually checked with tiny tone-on-tone squares that make the fabric even more interesting when you get close to it. Right between the first two options in terms of weight, this fabric is supple and soft, and perfect for the fall season!

Love the pattern

I love this pattern. It isn't a good one for beginners due to the lack of clear instructions. It also doesn't really tell you the width of bias binding to use -- odd! -- good thing bias tape comes in the kit. The garment itself is comfortable and flexible but the amount of fabric given seemed pretty skimpy this month.

struggling

I am not exactly a beginner but someone who needs more sewing experiences. This kit is frustrating me more than stretching me: e.g., I prefer tissue patterns for flexibility, manageability, elimination of steps (tracing); am finding red ink hard to read on the instruction; the English translation and abbreviations takes some figuring out (it can be done but why so challenging?); metric measurements also need translating (from instruction to pattern to sewing machine); the fabric is super slinky for someone still feeling her way. I could use a secondary Needle-sharp written tutorial to avoid confusion and frustration. I am only just beginning the sewing part so results remain to be seen . . .if it doesn't turn out useable I will really be ticked.

Lovely pattern and fabric combination

Great pattern and fabric. I love that you do all the main decisions for me! I little disappointed in the amount of elastic thread supplied-definitely needed more than one spool. Also, the fabric is very shear; it really needed a lining on the bodice. So, I did have to go to my local fabric store to get more supplies to finish.

Gotta love quilting!

I liked the fabric and final results but didn’t realize it would take so long to cut out and quilt all the pieces for this vest, and I’m an experienced quilter!
