Top Five Reasons I Love Sewing

Recently, for the month of September at least, I participated in the #sewphotohop sponsored by @HouseofPinheiro on Instagram. It was really fun and quite a challenge to post (almost) every day, especially while moving. It also made me realize how much I still haven't done in the sewing world, like refashioning a piece of clothing or collecting enough "trims and haberdashery" to take a picture of.  One of my favorite prompts was from early in the month: "Why I Sew." Looking at the posts from that day, there were so many different and interesting reasons that people sew. A Little More About Me...

Hi! Welcome to week three of Needle Sharp and the third ever blog post! Exciting, right?! Right. Well, I couldn't be more excited for what I'm doing right now, which is launching this business! For all three, these women are powerful, commanding and freakin' stylish. Also, the jewel-tone colors are perfect for three season wear. Emerald, ruby, onyx! Plus plaids! Oh my! Check out the mood board I made for these boxes! Photos (Clockwise from bottom...

Introducing . . . the first ever Monthly Box!!

It's been in the works for months and now I am ready to announce the theme for our first monthly subscription sewing kit. Ready? It's wiggle dresses!!  Cue Celebration... Wait, what's a wiggle dress, you ask? According to wikitionary (always a reputable dictionary) it is "a dress whose hem is narrower than the hips, causing the wearer to walk in short strides with legs close together, producing a sway or wiggle of the hips." Now, this type of dress is called by a couple of other things: pencil dress, sheath dress, or simply body-con dress. When I think of this type of dress, I think Mad Men, Marilyn Monroe, and Dita Von Teese. These types of dresses are vintage, sexy, and by god, they...
