It's now about a week in to the new year, which means that if you've had a resolution, you've either broken it or seriously considered breaking it, but also, that if you got our Wiggle Dress box, you've had time to open it, wash the fabric and get ready to start sewing.  So, now what? Well, if you're a master sewer, you've probably already got a beautiful dress. But if, like me, you sometimes struggle with certain sewing tasks or you just want a safety net, I'd like to give you some helpful links so you can complete your dress. Inspiration for Our February Pencil Skirt Box

It's hard to deny the versatility of the simple pencil skirt. It can be paired with a simple tank for a great weekend outfit. Or match it to a blazer and a nice shirt, and you have your go-to work outfit. It can be made in pretty much any color and any print. I also think it's incredibly figure-flattering. When looking for inspiration out there, it wasn't hard to find...

Say Hello to the February Box Featuring Pencil Skirts!

I personally love the look of pencil skirts. And this month, I've chosen three styles that will be great additions to your wardrobe.

In fact it is mostly still in boxes and will be for a couple of weeks. This means, one, I feel incredibly disorganized and two, I've kind of lost my sew-jo. I've always sewn in fits and starts, mostly based on when I could get two days off strung together because I am decidedly not a "sew after work" person. But right now, I don't have a day job and I'm even worse at planning my sewing than ever. Go figure!...

Top Five Reasons I Love Sewing

Recently, for the month of September at least, I participated in the #sewphotohop sponsored by @HouseofPinheiro on Instagram. It was really fun and quite a challenge to post (almost) every day, especially while moving. It also made me realize how much I still haven't done in the sewing world, like refashioning a piece of clothing or collecting enough "trims and haberdashery" to take a picture of.  One of my favorite prompts was from early in the month: "Why I Sew." Looking at the posts from that day, there were so many different and interesting reasons that people sew. And it got me thinking about my own reasons, beyond what I posted that day.  So, now that I have a blog,...
